Well, the mooing and quacking and whistling and honking is over. Some kind person has picked up all the toys and stacked them neatly. Ms. Maggie has told me it really is time to turn off my favorite Putumayo Kids CD: World Playground. (Remember, Just Keep Goin' On by Eric Bibb & Needed Time. Could we get a more mommy appropriate band name than that?) The babies have all gone home, thanking me -- Elsie has learned to pronounce Miss Travis which is no mean feat -- but we had a good time, didn't we?
Books:
- Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss. Trust Dr. Seuss to turn the traditional, "What does the pig say, what does the cow say?" into a rhyming jingle that's fun for babies and their grownups.
- Quiet LOUD by Leslie Patricelli. I wonder if Leslie Patricelli really is a baby. She really gets babies. I wonder if Leslie Patricelli is a baby who really looks like this and whose work is being exploited by savvy publishers. I think her potty book is the single most important text on the subject:
- As Quiet as a Mouse by Hilda Offen. The moms and dads did a fantastico job chorusing along to this charming little book about simple sounds and actions. Thanks moms and dads!
The next children's storyteller at Gulf Beaches. Her gestures are soooooo dramatic.
Songs: All our very favorites. Our songs tend to be very noisy anyway.
Good times together. |
Does someone know she's cute or what? |
